Lajitas Zipline Tour
Lajitas Zipline Tour is located at Lajitas Golf Resort near Terlingua, TX. This project wasn’t a complete design/build project, rather it was a re-design/get it up to standard project. Lajitas had nine (9) lines at the time, and several of them were quite steep…i.e. pretty darn fast. These double-stacked ziplines needed work on their wire rope positioning and overall line profile design, as well as some problem solving on their braking systems.
We custom designed and installed our Hercules Braking System out there so that Lajitas could safely stop guests who hit the zipline brakes at 55MPH in some spots. We also repositioned cables, assisted with landing platform repositioning, and did a general consult, retraining, and overhaul on the entire tour and all associated documentation to ensure that Lajitas was in alignment with both ANSI/ACCT and ASTM International standards. They are now several years in with their systems and we’re happy to say that they are still rocking and rolling out in the desert.
